Rusty Whitlock started shaping surfboards in Seal Beach in 1963. His journey of shaping and building surfboards carried him from Hawaii back to Southern California in the early 80s. Rusty Whitlocks son, Cory Whitlock, joined the business in 2001 when a need for screen printing and further design of the surf company arose. Since then, the family ran surf business has flourished into a surfboard hub, featuring year-round surf lessons, a fully stocked surf shop in downtown Oceanside, a large business to business screen printing service in the same location, and a fully equipped surfboard manufacturing facility 2 miles away to produce and repair all of the surfboards the company has been producing since the early ’60s; RW Surfboards.

The factory also bolsters one of only 12 AKU CNC Surfboard shaping machines in the continental United States.
